Gary Gackstatter's arrangement of the classic Carol of the Bells brings some interesting new percussive elements to this very familiar piece by incorporating interludes of non-pitched percussion between the main themes. By breaking up the context of the original piece, Gackstatter's arrangement is one that will certainly keep the performer and audience riveted as they weave these elements together. This is an excellent work fora holiday concert for the advanced high school or college percussion ensemble.
