Star Chart was commissioned by flutist Nanami Hoshino. Inspired by the meaning of her surname—Hoshino, which evokes “stars”—and by the gentle, shimmering tone of her flute playing, the piece was composed as a tender and softly glowing ballad.

The title Star Chart reflects the idea of the flute and piano gently guiding listeners through the constellations of a quiet night sky, painting a starlit landscape in their hearts.
