Both of these two lovely marimba solos express a sense of nostalgia. The Prelude is a chorale that leaves nearly every aspect of musical interpretation up to the performer. Reverie is a beautiful, lyrical piece filled with grace.

Program Notes
The works Prelude and Reverie were composed in 2015. Both express a sense of nostalgia. However, given that the content of these pieces are dramatically different, they should not be performed together. Prelude is a choral, and I have left almost every aspect of the music up to the performer. Feel free to add additional pauses other than the ones notated, and roll types may also vary as long as it does not take away from the integrity of the music. Reverie should be played very gracefully and lyrically. Mallet choice should accommodate for the low notes in the left hand as well as the emphasized notes marked with a tenuto. My hope for these works is that every performance is unique to the performer.
