Written while working on a sunburn & sipping caipirinhas in Hawaii, the musical inspiration for ,b>Dana's Mai Tai is the Brazilian choro. While the piece was written for unaccompanied marimba, the addition of percussion is encouraged.

Program Notes
I wrote the main theme of "Dana's Mai Tai" in the summer of 2009 while working on my sunburn in Hawaii. Despite the title, I believe Dana and I were sipping caipirinhas, but it was the melody that got stuck in our heads that counted. While this choro-esque piece may be played as a solo, additional percussion is encouraged.
