Swingin’ Shaker Tune begins as a slow Count Basie-style ballad featuring the lead trumpet, shifting gears into a lively tempo. Every section gets a piece of the melody before a Call-and-Response passage that sets up a solo section containing optional written solos or improvisation using the chord changes provided in the sax and trumpet parts. The stop-time Dixieland that follows allows your lead players from each section to share the spotlight before the rousing group finale.
