In A Snowy Twilight, a quartet of mallet instruments paints a magical, wistful memory of snow falling during the in-between time that is neither day or night. A fine choice for the winter or Christmas holiday season, but equally suitable as a gentler interlude in a program of typically loud percussion music.

Program Notes
Although I appreciate all audiences, I think I most treasure the opportunities to delight children with my music. Their capacity for wonder and simple joy makes them ideal listeners, if the composer remembers he writes musical stories, and not academic theses. A Snowy Twilight is a long-overdue gift celebrating the birth of Penelope, the daughter of my percussionist colleague and friend Nathan Daughtrey and his wife Katie. Writing for an array of mallet instruments comprising crotales, orchestral bells, xylophone, and marimba, I've tried to portray the magical, elfin quality of snow falling during the in-between time that is neither day nor night.
