Program Notes
The inspiration for Shimmer was light in motion. In this composition, I tried to capture the feeling of playful, glistening sunlight dancing across open water. Shimmer’s main theme is stated three times. Its brilliant flourishes are contrasted by two introspective sections of music, giving the overall composition a rondo-like feel.
