Program Notes

Recitation was written years ago in 2017 as an attempt to make a 4 part chorale that played to the marimba’s unique harmonic overtones. This piece, while originally just a sketch from a single productive afternoon, was later recorded by Casey Cangelosi, a friend and mentor that has supported my work enthusiastically since we met. This piece is dedicated to Casey for his relentless positivity and encouragement during my musical development.

Recitation was edited by the composer and republished with C. Alan Publications in 2024.
