Program Notes
Isabel was commissioned by multi-percussionist Alan Fey for his Master’s recital in percussion performance at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. It was conceived to be a duet with solo dancer, and was premiered on April 7, 2011 with dance performance and choreography by Autumn Welt. While the piece may be performed without choreography, performers are encouraged to consider a similar dance collaboration when programming this piece.
Isabel is inspired by, and dedicated to, my wife Elizabeth, herself a lover of dance.
