Off Axis includes an impressive virtuosic (yet idiomatic) solo part. Glassock uses the ensemble as a sounding board for the solo marimba with much rhythmic interplay and imitation. Constantly changing meters (4/4, 7/16, 9/16, 3/4, etc.) before settling in 4/4 for the drum solo section. Wonderful piece for a university student recital or for the professional.
