Concerto for Marimba, Percussion & Synthesizers

Written for marimbist Michael Burritt, this virtuosic three-movement work is a first-rate piece of music. The solo marimba part is virtuosic and challenging. The electronics weave in and out of the solo and ensemble texture, sometimes providing a nice sustained, choral backdrop, sometimes providing an in-your-face back beat.

Percussion 3 (afuche or cabasa, bass drum, 2 congas, gliss gong, high and low temple blocks, large tam-tam, large woodblock, rainstick, suspended cymbal, slapstick/whip, snare drum)

The electronics weave in and out of the solo and ensemble texture, sometimes providing a nice sustained, choral backdrop, sometimes providing an in-your-face back beat (as in Rokit!).
