Tumble. is a set of 5 miniatures for two percussionists playing desk bells, stomping, and clapping. Over the 5 movements, there is a gentle opening, a playful sense of falling-over, a picture of a cold January morning, and (of course) a bop.

Program Notes
Tumble. is a set of 5 miniatures for two percussionists playing desk bells, stomping, and clapping, and was co-commissioned by John Wayne Duke, Anthony McIntosh, Conner Viets, and Hannah Gallamore. While I was sketching the piece, I found that everything that I wrote felt especially sincere – there is no way that anyone can take themselves too seriously when writing for (or playing) desk bells. Over the 5 movements, there is a gentle opening, a playful sense of falling-over, a picture of a cold January morning, and (of course) a bop.
Tumble. was commissioned by John Wayne Duke, Anthony McIntosh, Connor Viets, and Hannah Gallamore.
It was premiered by Duke and McIntosh in March 2019 with dancers Kelli Bower, Aubrey Claussen, Cody Hartshorn, and Gayle Rocz. Viets and Gallamore (CHannel2 Duo) recorded the work with Blank House Media later that year.
Performed by CHannel2 Percussion Duo (Hannah Gallamore and Conner Viets)
