Written to capture the spirit and determination of the ‘ordinary’ men who became part of the ANZAC legend, in a contemporary world, The NEW ANZACS extends to represent the contribution of all of those who have fought and died in conflicts since WWI. Perceptions of the legend may have altered over the years, but it remains a focus for generations of young Australian and New Zealanders. The music begins with a familiar motif and concludes with the hymn ST ANN: ‘O God our help in the ages past’.
