Program Notes
The Salvation Army's USA Eastern Territory is home to one of the oldest and most famous Salvation Army music summer camps in the world, which is held at their Star Lake Camp in New Jersey. The story of the Star Lake march being written by Eric Ball during his visit to the camp, with pages of score being handed out of the room where Eric was busily composing to eager students who copied the parts as the march was written, has passed into Salvation Army folklore. The march itself has certainly stood the test of time and remains an extremely popular item.
