Program Notes
Commissioned by the Carroll County Community Band, Jim Swiggart, conductor, the inspiration for Our Country, Our Freedom is to remind all of us that no matter our differences, we are still one country. The middle hymn section offers brief quotes of each of the Armed Services’ themes to pay tribute to those who gave their lives for our freedom. We have much to be proud of and much to be grateful for in our country!
