Myriads of Stars" is a three-movement work for trumpet, marimba, and piano. This glittering, shimmery, and sparkling work sounds like space. To express a primitive atmosphere, a unique rhythmic metalwork pattern from Africa is used at the very beginning. Jazz-style motifs, rhythms, and harmonies are found throughout.

Myriads of Stars was commissioned by Mutsumi Tsuuzaki in 1996 and written for trumpet, marimba, and piano. In 2003, the version for marimba and piano was made and premiered in Kyoto, Japan by Mutsumi Tsuuzaki (marimba) and Yukiko Nishimura (piano). This piece consists of three movements and expresses various scenery and phenomena of the universe. To express a primitive atmosphere, the unique rhythm pattern by African metal percussion in ancient times is featured at the beginning of the piece. Jazz-style motifs, rhythms, and harmonies are also found throughout.
