Memories of an Unforgettable Love is a composition for marimba and percussion ensemble. In essence, this piece is a set of theme and variations on the famous Latin ballad Besame Mucho. However, other original melodic material, as well as influences from standard marimba literature, jazz, Brazilian, and Flamenco music are employed in this piece.

Memories of an Unforgettable Love is a composition for marimba and percussion ensemble. In essence, this piece is a set of theme and variations on the famous Latin ballad Besame Mucho. However, other original melodic material, as well as influences from standard marimba literature, jazz, Brazilian, and Flamenco music are employed in this piece. The piece was premiered in 2011 at the Los Llanos International Percussion Festival in Venezuela. A recording of this piece can be found on Juan Álamo’s CD “Marimjazzia.”
