Program Notes
Melting Clocks is a quirky romp through Salvador Dalí’s painting The Persistence of Memory. Quotes of the commissioning school’s fight song and alma mater are synthesized with bending melodies, tick-tocking elements, and a unique harmonic language. It is my hope that directors will spend some time exposing their students to the Dalí painting, as I think it will trigger a deeper understanding of the musical elements found within the work!

Melting Clocks was commissioned by the Band Boosters of the Gateway School District (Monroeville, PA) for the Gateway Bands.
