Suitable for full and string orchestra, The Koala Can-Can is one of a series of pieces in a collection of string orchestra music written for Australian school orchestras. It has been re-scored to include winds and percussion for the full young school orchestra. It is written to depict a group of koala bears in a line "high kicking" to a can- can style rhythm. The allegro marking should be tempered by your group's ability level but the rhythmic pulse should not be comprimised. The style demands separation of crotchets and an even, vital pulse. Ensure crescendos and "subito" dynamic changes are well executed.
