How many times in a day do you say a phrase with the word “case” in it? Phrases such as “in any case,” “in that case,” or the most used contingency thought, “just in case,” are spoken more often than you might realize. Just in Case is an electro-acoustic creation featuring computer-generated loops and sound effects (using Logic Pro), accompanied by recorded voices speaking an array of phrases with the word “case” in them.

How many times in a day do you say a phrase with the word “case” in it? Just in Case is an electro-acoustic creation featuring computer-generated loops and sound effects (using Logic Pro), accompanied by recorded voices speaking an array of phrases with the word “case” in them. There is somewhat of a storyline to the quotes, which develops as the ensemble uses various sizes of drum cases as instruments. Two versions of the track are included in a downloadable ZIP file: 1) a track with quotes so that the performing ensemble can import the mp3 and be ready to play, and 2) a track without quotes so that the performing ensemble can record and add their own voices (using the quote listing on the next page using Garage Band, Logic Pro, or other similar software. Ensembles are encouraged to do this so that their performance is customized and unique for their performers and audience.
