An exciting way to kick off a concert or festival, Fanfare X challenges every section in the band to put their heart and soul into the performance! Starting with a timpani solo, it quickly transitions into bold, rhythmic statements leading into a chorale-like section, then returns for the powerful conclusion. This is a great feature for your band and percussion section that the audience will love.

Program Notes
Fanfare X was written to celebrate coming out of the Covid years and returning to the thrill of making music with full groups again. From the opening timpani solo to the final note, this piece announces: “We’re back!” The piece is dedicated to percussionist Ron Sikes and his outstanding band program at Jefferson R7 High School in Missouri.
