Extracted from Saint-Seans' humorous suite Carnival of the Animals, The Elephant evokes the image of a clumsy, dancing elephant. Geoffrey Brand's brilliant scoring gives the spreads the melody between the low brass and low woodwinds and makes the band sing like an orchestra.
