Cerulean Blue for solo vibraphone begins and ends with a simple melody, while the B section is driven by 4-1-3-2 and outside-inside permutations, accenting the moving line. This laid-back composition is a welcome addition to a solo recital.

Program Notes
Cerulean Blue for solo vibraphone begins and ends with a simple melody, while the B section is driven by 4-1-3-2 and outside-inside permutations, accenting the moving line. As this piece was written using a vibraphone with a missing pedal and dampening bar, it naturally lends itself to lots of space between chords and phrases in order to let the resonance dissipate. Minimal pedaling is needed, just let the instrument ring.
