A Lo Menos Amemos is a work for winds, percussion, strings, and SAB choir based on a beautiful love poem by the Spanish poet Amado Nervo called “Amemos” (in English, “Let’s Love”). The lyrics propose an optimistic outlook on life‘s uncertainties, proclaiming that “if we move in a sea of darkness,” if no light may be shone on the mysteries that plague us, then “At least let’s love! Perhaps it is not in vain!”
