Two Starlight Carols is a string orchestra arrangement featuring two iconic carols of the holiday season; Silent Night and Away in a Manger. Each melody is featured separately and then partnered together. Effective harmonies keep the melodies very recognizable and easy to listen to.

Program Notes
This ballad-style arrangement features two iconic carols featured separately and then as partnered melodies with a harmony that accommodates both. The arrangement begins with “Silent Night” followed by “Away In A Manger.” There is some divisi in the violin parts, but only to provide a richer presentation, harmonically. There is a fairly forceful bridge to set up the partnering section in the last few measures which presents a harmonic challenge, but not overly so. The melodies do fit nicely together. This arrangement will fit nicely with any program of Christmas songs, and will not take a lot of time to prepare.

The partnering is meant to surprise and delight the listener and player alike.
