Domenico Scarlatti was an Italian composer in the Baroque era, known mostly during his time as a virtuosic harpsichordist, and for his harpsichord sonatas, such as these two. The purpose for arranging these two sonatas was to highlight another perspective of Baroque era music that is not J.S. Bach, and to hopefully introduce more people to Scarlatti’s music.

Program Notes
Domenico Scarlatti was an Italian composer in the Baroque era, known mostly during his time as a virtuosic harpsichordist, and for his harpsichord sonatas, such as these two. I chose these two sonatas due to their same key center of d minor and their heavily contrasting characters.
