Program Notes
To Build a Bond So Strong was written for Katherine and Joey Sam to celebrate their wedding on June 24, 2017. I have been friends with Kat and Joey for many years, and I even had the fortunate opportunity to spend an extended amount of time with them through the spring of 2017. This piece not only speaks to my impressions of both individuals and their marriage holistically, but it also resonates my feelings about the bonds that we have all built with each other through the time we have spent together. My hope is that To Build a Bond So Strong captures the passion that these two individuals have towards music, people, education, and of course, each other.
