Some time ago I discovered the 12 Caprices Op. 25 for solo violoncello by Alfredo Piatti in search of compositions suited for the marimba. I was very surprised to find out how excellently some of these pieces - in particular, from a tonal point of view - were suited for an interpretation on the marimba.

Thus, in my view, the adaptations of the Caprices Nos. V, X, and XII presented here can be considered a contribution to an enlarged solo literature for the marimba. - Leander Kaiser
