Program Notes
Written by German Classical composer Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (also known as C.P.E. Bach) in 1766, Solfeggio in C Minor is a short, beautiful piece originally composed for the piano that adapts very well to the world of the marimba quartet.
The performers are suggested to setup the instruments in a way that will help facilitate the interplay between the different marimba parts. If a marimba with a low G is not available, the Marimba 3 part can be modified to be performed on a 4.3 octave instrument by taking the G in measure 9 up one octave.
