Because it is a “recital piece,” this work does not employ any experimental techniques and concepts; however, it is based on an idea of musical simultaneity. In fact, different rhythm structures, pitch structures, timbres, and musical characteristics are contrasted and sounded simultaneously in this piece; therefore, sometimes the soloist has to perform as if two musicians were playing two instruments.

Program Notes
A Rainy Perspective was written for Akiko Goto Iino and was premiered in her recital on February 28, 2005. Perspective, the title of the piece, describes such a duality as a music sounds through another music.
