Program Notes
Oxford Scherzo was commissioned as an award to the highest placed band at the 1986 Boosey & Hawkes National Concert Band Festival. Ardee Concert Band (Co. Louth Ireland) were the winners on that occasion. They gave the first performance of Oxford Scherzo, conducted by Harry Kelly on Saturday 14 march 1987 at the National Concert Band Festival held at the Fairfield Hall, Croydon, England.
