Ocean’s Air is a programmatic piece written to resemble soaring over the ocean, or any body of water from a bird’s perspective. It captures the ups and downs that come with it and what animals, boats, and more you would encounter along the way.

The grand opening of the piece represents the initial flight, followed by a contrasting softer section that resembles peaceful soaring. The piece ends similar to the way it begins – with a bold flourish marking the end of the journey. This piece was written for the Skyline Middle School Band in 2021.
