While developing hand interdependence, this solo also allows for much creative musical expression. "Just A Gift" is dedicated to the composer's, Jake Alan Gist, his favorite percussionist. 4.3-octave marimba | 4 mallets Performed by Tami Bott Copyright © 2021 C. • Pass It On - Jim Gist (from "The Lion's Roar, Vol. 1")

This engaging two-mallet solo uses mixed meters and hemiolas to keep the performer and listener on their toes. Throughout the solo the constant passing back and forth of each hand playing independently and then the two hands together reflects the growth of the individual musician learning the balance between developing as a soloist and a member of an ensemble. "Pass It On" is in memory of Dave Samuels and is influenced by his music. 4.3-octave marimba | 2 mallets Performed by Tami Bott Copyright © 2021 C.
