Program Notes
The Last Moment is one of several works I wrote for my private percussion students at Yukon High School to perform their senior year. I had four students that had studied with me throughout their time in high school, and I wanted to give them a special parting gift as a thank-you for the time we spent together making music. The Last Moment, named by my student Bailee Gist (for whom it was written), is sentimental and sweet. Everything is fleeting, and we never know when the last moment will come. -J.W.W.
