Written by Evgeniya Kozhevnikova in 2019, Free Land for Free Men is a piece for tuba and piano. It was inspired by an image of a highlander living independently in the mountains. Amongst the musical inspirations for it was the Concerto for Tuba by Ralph Vaughan Williams. The piece was premiered on March 10, 2020 by Akshat Jain and Yoko Yamada (Merit School of Music, Chicago, IL).
