Program Notes
Cool Beans was commissioned by the Bussey Middle School Bands, Garland, TX, Kimberly Tucker, director. The work juxtaposes the composer’s love of jazz and Hispanic music. Cool Beans is in three sections. Mexican songs used are two traditional songs "The Parrot Song" and the "Mexican Hat Dance" as well as an original Tejano-inspired melody by the composer.
