Concert Prelude is a vibrant concert overture that features the full resources of the wind orchestra. Wind, brass and percussion are juxtaposed in antiphonal dialogue and then gently wedded together in intimate chamber music like sections.

The 1995 Combined Schools Music Festival (an annual event presented by the leading private grammar schools on the east coast of Australia) featured the premiere of Concert Prelude. This work is a vibrant concert overture that features the full resources of the wind orchestra. Wind, brass and percussion are juxtaposed in antiphonal dialogue and then gently wedded together in intimate chamber music like sections. This is dynamic and delicate msuic making on the one aural canvas.
