Bringing the World To You

In addition to our incredibly diverse catalog, C. Alan Publications acts as the North American distributor for four other publishers from around the globe.

Ten years ago in 2005, we built a relationship with British publisher G & M Brand Publications by distributing their band catalog throughout North America. They represent the cream of British music for concert band. Guided by the musical taste of Geoffrey and Michael Brand, the catalogue features fine original works and arrangements by Holst, Grainger and Jacob together with contemporary composers such as Derek Bourgeois, Paul Hart, Philip Sparke, Edward Gregson, Joseph Horovitz and Adam Gorb. The catalogue is also distinguished by arrangements of classical repertoire by Geoffrey Brand plus original graded compositions by Bruce Fraser, Michael Brand and Stuart Johnson.

Just two years ago in 2013, we entered a similar relationship with the Australian publisher Brolga Music. They produce high quality works which reflect the nature of the Australian environment – open, entertaining and enjoyable to play and to listen to. Brolga composers are Australia’s leading writers and have established an international reputation for the musical integrity of their output. They also provide, at the lower ability levels particularly, a vast resource for teaching and developing young musicians both technically and musically.

Also in 2013, we were thrilled to start distributing the OU Percussion Press catalog (out of the University of Oklahoma). It simply began as a commissioning series in 1977 for the OU Percussion Orchestra, which encourages the development of new music for percussion ensemble. The Commissioning Series is responsible for the creation of some of today's staples in the percussion ensemble repertoire, such as Crown of Thorns by David Maslanka, The Palace of Nine Perfections by Eric Ewazen, and Diabolic Variations by Raymond Helble.

Finally, we have just become the North American distributor for the concert band catalog of TradeWinds. These wonderful works feature a mix of original pieces for concert band and transcriptions for concert band of The Salvation Army Brass Band.
