Cartwheels! is a piece of music dedicated to that wonderfully elegant and graceful gymnastics move. Mastering the cartwheel takes time and patience, but once you have it it's a joyful skill. The music mirrors the idea of learning the cartwheel, with some sections sounding like you're trying to get up the courage to try and others reveling in the success of doing a great cartwheel. At the end, our imaginary gymnast has not only mastered the technique, but can now do one after another, faster and faster.

Cartwheels! is dedicated to my granddaughter Emma, who at age 6 would rather do cartwheels than walk to wherever she is going.
