Program Notes
I’ve always believed that the most exciting music takes us on a journey full of unexpected twists and turns but brings us exactly to where we are meant to be. That is what I was striving for with this composition. This piece is meant to celebrate the triumph of the human spirit over all the trials and tribulations we are faced with every day. And much like this piece, the path to overcoming those challenges is not always straightforward. But often, we will find that we end up exactly where we are meant to be, and in retrospect, we discover that the journey along the way shaped us into who we’ve become. In that sense, this piece is an anthem to the power of perseverance, conquering all doubts and nay sayers. Sometimes, when we fall, we end up rising even higher than where we started. I’ve tried to embody that essence in this composition.
