I purchased Anxiety for a large group of year 9 and 10 high school students, some of whom are pianists and wind players, and some who are private percussion students. We needed 12 to 15 separate parts--tuned and untuned, some able to be doubled--and this piece has them. The score is well organized and accessible, with melody and a driving sense of rhythm. Students are able to quickly get a sense of the whole so that more time can be spent balancing the ensemble and working on precision, dynamics, and musicality. This would be a good piece to open or close a concert. Steven Machamer on Aug 16th 2024
