Program Notes
Going Up the Down Stairs pokes a little fun at the Northern Kentucky University Department of Music architecture. The new addition to our Fine Arts building requires a climb up of three flights of stairs and down one to go up a floor, or up one and down three to go down a level.
The melody at letter B pays tribute to this NKU phenomenon. The piece is dedicated to Scott Lang, Instructor of Percussion at NKU and the NKU Steel Band.
